Best time to buy a fridge?

There is currently a 15% off sale at Lowe’s.

I don’t recall a 20% off sale recently but I may have just missed it. Also, sometimes individual stores have clearance models on sale cheap, and lower than online so it pays to visit the physical stores. Costco is a good source as well.

These sales always exlude appliances. I guess you never tried using the promo code for major appliances.

The best time to buy a fridge is when you need a fridge. It is not really a "buy now, justify it later" type of thing... :devil:

Milk it for as long as possible, and when you think its about ready to die ... then you buy.
Our last frig was over 22 years old ... just replaced it 2 weeks ago, but had compared prices ahead of time

That sucks. I just bought a lawnmower with that 15% discount, no problem. Anyhow, I bought my last fridge from Costco. Decent prices there.

For my last dryer purchase, I bought it from Lowe’s in-store on clearance. Way cheaper than their online advertised sale price, probably partially because it was their last unit.

Actually, Lowe's currently has 10% of major appliances if you get their credit card.

10% is iffy, but whenever it's more like 15-20% I'll apply for a card, buy the item, pay the credit card off immediately, and then cancel the card. Worth it to save 20%. Only problem with this though is you don't get extended warranty like you do with other credit cards.

It took me a 1-2 years to find the perfect deal. My findings are that, if you don’t need a fridge ASAP, you’re already winning.The best deals I found on the newest model appliances was Best Buy. They usually run VIP events which give you 10-15% off appliances ( appliances that are on sale can stack with the VIP deals ). November- December were the best for overall appliance discounts. Although, when new models released, clearance prices were pretty great. Those sales are spotty throughout the months of March - August. Lowe’s tends to have the best clearance discounts in my experience. The Rona and Lowe’s 20% off sales usually exclude appliances. Check the terms & conditions to be certain.

I ended up finding the best deal on BF. BF sale + VIP 10% off + free cookware and free delivery on a fridge and stove.

Used to buy appliances from Seas outlet stores, especially when they have 30-40% more discounts.

First of all, research research research! Not just the model, but also the brand. This should take weeks of thought and planning if youre starting from scratch and have time on your side. This is a big purchase, and potential headaches down the road can be massive.

Best way to go IMO is to find an appliance at a price beating store like Home Depot and then try to catch them with price differences to another retailer. I did this for all my appliances 6 years ago and was able to get lower than Futureshops own cost. It needed store manager approval, and they didn’t want to do it...but it’s a corporate policy so the store had no choice.

I price beat I believe using canadianappliances.ca. If memory serves me right, I was able to get the Fridgidaire multi appliance buying promo discount as well at the time.
