Best way to reach $1500 minimum spend?

I have to reach $1500 on my AMEX SPG card by May 31st. I was thinking of buying $1500 worth of Amazon gc and using it over the year. Any more efficient way? Any way to get discount or promotion on GCs? Thanks!

Get gift cards to the places you buy groceries and gas, those you will use more often

I never thought I would see a thread asking for help spending money.

I agree that you should buy gift cards to places where you know you will buy something every week, such as groceries and gas. Also, Costco is a good place assuming you go there regularly.

How To Reach $500-$5000 minimum spending?
- GIFT CARDS: Gas/Grocery/Pharmacy/Electronic/Amazon
- Pre-pay your bills (Phone/Internet/Utilities/whatever)
- Insurance bills (home & auto) <- this is a big one usually
- Use mobile app [PayTM] to pay your bills, for FREE, for now. I've paid Hydro, insurance, property tax, gas, etc... CRA seems to not work anymore
- Worst case, use Plastiq.ca to pay things you couldn't pay with AMEX (like property tax, CRA, etc...) for about 2-2.5% fee
- or PayPal yourself/friends (2.5% fee?)
- Buy Prepaid Credit Cards (e.g. use AMEX to buy VISA/MC GC at 7-11/gas stations). See this RFD thread for best deals like 7-11 (One Vanilla Mastercard Max $500) (Loading Fee $7.95 Funds do not expire) or PayPower GC $500 + $6.95 activation fee from grocery stores

If you have a Canadian Tire gas bar nearby, Canadian Tire gift cards can be used there, and will go on sale at Rexall soon for 10% off.

Costco cash card is a good idea but you can only buy them with Amex at cardswap.ca, which has none at the moment.
I buy mine right from Costco.ca

Has Costco cash card ever been available for purchase on cardswap.ca?

I don't know. Someone would have to sell one to cardswap.ca first. It's hard to imagine that happening—Costco members would just spend it, and non-Costco members can visit a warehouse as a guest and convert the card to cash.
