Also wasn't this exact tablet $299 at U of T bookstore in 2014? And you didn't need to be a student either.

Good deal. I'd get it if I didn't already have one. I've had one for 2+ years (and paid 450 for a NIB from Craigslist).
Computer isn't fast, and can be buggy with various issues. On mine it'll shut off for no reason from sleep mode and may not start initially when I press the power button -- I need to wait a minute and try again... My mother's had other baffling issues where certain keys no longer worked (and it was a software issue as I found one other person online asking about the exact same keys no longer working) and various other things stopped working. I think it stopped being able to find Wi-Fi locations so she couldn't use the internet on it. At the price it would have cost to fix she just got a new computer.
.. So, be aware it has issues.
However for someone that just wants to type documents and go online it's (usually) just fine and very lightweight. At the price you can't expect perfect.

If you read between the lines, it looks like the keyboard is included from the overview:
Unless Best Buy has redefined the meaning of a notebook to mean tablet, the keyboard should be included.Keyboard dock is comfortable for typing
What's in the Box?
Notebook

Thanks OP! Haven't pulled the trigger yet but I'm currently looking for something to replace my parents' old laptop that has been dying a slow death...Is it quick to boot up? They really only use their laptop for light web browsing and playing solitaire...think this is a decent machine for these purposes?

Yep, very fast to boot (flash memory). Keyboard has a USB port (USB3) on the side for a mouse (or use built in bluetooth).glfrboy wrote: ↑Thanks OP! For web browsing and solitaire/cards - it's excellent. Use it as a tablet when you want, or a laptop when you want. Very versatile for light work/use

My sister has been using mine for about 2-3 years and the only problem she has is the rubbe rfeet on the keyboard falling off causing the screen to not sleep properly when closed. A rubber band solves that problem.Karala wrote: ↑Good deal. I'd get it if I didn't already have one. I've had one for 2+ years (and paid 450 for a NIB from Craigslist).

Is $299 Bestbuy's regular price? I don't see it listed as a sale price.

That's almost twice the cost. 12.5" would start to compromise mobility. IMO, that's almost a different animal than the one in this thread.Keigotw wrote: ↑$220 more you can get this Core M-5Y10/ 8GB /128GB / 12.5" Touch, 2560x1440/ (refurb)

I bought a chuwi hi10. With the keyboard dock and shipping and taxes, it was $261 all in. Cheaper, better processor, more ram, 1920x1200 display, full usb 3.0 and 2.0 ports, not only on dock but tablet as well.
