BEWARE: Newegg giving out free game as "free gift"

I ordered a new mobo that came with a "free game" (free digital download code), claims it to be worth $29.99. A Google search reveals the game is actually free to play. So there was no point in this free digital download code anyway. It almost seems like a scam to advertise something that's free and pretend they're giving you a "free gift".

Nevermind, I was blind. They separated the free digital download code into a separate order, and charged the full price HST on it, but took off the $29.99 before applying tax on the rest of the order. So it was actually "free". Still, it's kind of wrong to advertise it as a free gift that's worth $29.99 when the game is actually free anyway.

Yes, the game is free to play but if you look you will see that this is the $29.99 they are giving you:
- Tier III Aurora (in game premium ship) $16.67
- 1,000,000 Credits (in game currency)
- 7 Days Premium (7 day boost in experience rate) $8.67
- 1000 Doubloons (in game currency) about $5

I couldn't find the 1,000,000 credits price but just everything else is about $30.

And also, it's a gigabyte promotion not newegg.

Yeah the game is not what you're "getting" it's the credits and PTW crap. Honestly I don't get why people get themselves into FTP games. It's "worth $30" but you should probably just sell it on eBay, etc. for what you can (probably $10...if you're lucky) and be glad you stayed away from the "game".

In another world
A while ago I bought a video card and motherboard from NCIX that came with free digital download codes for Just Cause 2 and Mafia, so I sold both on eBay.
