Before anyone asks:

No, it's significantly below the minimum recommended specs for the PS5.

One person on this thread in US responded he is using this for gaming without any problem for last two weeks https://slickdeals.net/f/16432564-1tb-k ... e-shipping

also in US it is costing $51USD= $70 CAD before tax via B&H, Amazon,Walmart. Is there any way to re-ship it to Canada for a nominal shipping charges? So $75+tax within Canada looks same price to me??

The PS5 won't stop you from using it because the only actual requirement is that the SSD is PCIe 4.0 x4.

Sony just provides zero guarantees for game performance if you install an SSD that's below the minimum recommended read speeds.

While this is true, they did not indicate it was on a PS5. Nonetheless, it is still a good price for decent specs for a schmuck like me that just wants to add more space to their pc. Thanks OP

yeah, even I bought one for other uses than gaming...gaming would be a last option for me as I am on Xbox One X 1TB, not sure if I can use this with it externally.

I feel like all threads on SSD"s should include whether it has DRAM, and how many bits per cell, aka SLC, MLC, TLC, QLC.

Too many brands/models to keep up with.

Man, even the kingston product page is hiding it. Must be none and QLC then.

Edit: It's dramless. Could be TLC or QLC. Can't be bothered to check. Straight trash probably. Sorry /rant

For this price 100% won't get DRAM, here's the specs:

2TB is $149.99: https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B0BDTC589G (typo 1TB in the title)

Fair enough, but those two attributes are what manufacturers are beginning to hide. So it's becoming frustrating.

What performance guarantees does Sony actually provide when you use a recommended Gen 4 drive?

That it's essentially identical to playing it off the built-in internal SSD.

It's obviously not like a "100% guaranteed or your money back!" type of "guarantee".

Same. Seems that it's going to be a great storage drive for me - was looking to upgrade my last HDD
