Firmware Upgrade details in this Post by @coilz
coilz wrote: Ok Finally set up the Deco M9 Plus here. Noticed that there are no firmware upgrade for my M9 plus V2.8, its on Firmware 1.2.12 Build 20191014 ? Other hardware versions like V2 or V2.2 has updated firmware that are dated from 2021... Anyone noticed that issue?

Edit: Might have found solution here? https://community.tp-link.com/us/home/f ... pic/517324
They say using the Update Utility to update to firmware for V2
?..... Sounds like YMMV thing?

The firmware update does work. I just did it last week on v2 hardware. Without it, the app won't show you an update is available. After doing this initial update, all future updates can be done via the app. Doing this update also gives you a webui.

There's some bug fixes but overall the same ui. Good to stay updated though.

Highly recommend the m9. I have three, previously had them all wireless and now they're all wired together.

I just bought three wall/roof mounts from Walmart (half the price of Amazon).

Ping me if you have any questions

With TP-LINK DECO products, you have to update the firmware yourself 99% of the time. I have 3 M4's and i missed 3 major updates. So go on the tp link website and check your firmware and version.

I bought these on the previous sale ($135usd).

I have no complaints at all

I wire backhauled them together and it's stable, fast, good range and trouble free.

At this price, I'd recommend.

If you need more info, just search TP-Link deco M9 on Slickdeals. You'll see that this deal has been consistently rated one of the very best mesh deals of all time (it comes up every now and then).

i recommend this deal.

i was about to buy 2 "higher end" wifi extenders

these are 3 pack, and actual mesh/AP ... not the troublesome wifi extenders, at less cost

just hoping the refurb factor is not a problem down the line,

I purchased this a couple months ago but returned it.

Decided to keep my Asus RC-A68U - the performance overall was better. YMMV.
I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate. All those moments will be lost in time... like tears in rain.

I ordered mine Wednesday evening and UPS says it will arrive Wednesday next week. I chose the prepaid clearance option.

I have a RT-AC68U that I use a Managed switch (wifi off, main gateway, DHCP Sever, DNS Filtering, etc) behind my current Samsung mesh. I’m planning on doing the same with the Deco IF it’s missing some the features I’m use too.

I have a 68U paired with 3 Deco M5s and I found the wireless signal on the 68U was way better when the coverage overlapped.

Good deal. Bought this last time it was posted back in December. Running well after a manual firmware update.

How's the internet speed of this one? I had TP-link router before and after few days the speed dropped significantly. I needed to restart every time the speed dropped.

I have m5 and assigning permanent ip to my NAS (address reservation) just _doesn't_ work at all... Wondering if m9 has the same issue?

I have these M9's and have permanent IP's assigned to my unraid server and a few other devices. Have had no issues.
