BIG YMMV: Simplii Financial 1.50% Savings Account Promo July 1 - Oct.31/2021

Logged into my Simplii Account and received a New Savings Account Bonus Interest Promo for 1.50% from July 1 to Oct.31/202.

The 1.50% is for new deposit money to Savings Account. Not on existing Balance.

Please check your Simplii Account. It's Definitely YMMV.

I received the same offer but it was for new clients not existing.

"New client offer"

"Earn 1.50% interest† on your savings
Open an account and get a special interest rate.

Limits apply. Offer ends October 31, 2021."

Interesting.

I received a Confirmation Email:

As requested, this email confirms you're signed up for the Simplii Financial™ Savings Account offer. You'll earn 1.50% on eligible new deposits until October 31, 2021.

Grow your savings by signing on to online banking at simplii.com to set up automatic transfers into your Savings Account today!

Thank you for banking with us.

How it works:

Offer Period: July 1, 2021 through October 31, 2021. To participate in the Simplii Financial™ promotional interest offer (the "Offer"), an eligible account holder must enroll during the Offer Period by accepting the online offer through online banking or by calling 1-866-747-8128.

The Offer is available by invitation only to select Simplii Financial High Interest Savings Account and/or Savings Account ("Eligible Accounts")account holders during the Offer Period. The special annual interest rate of 1.50% is a combination of the regular annual interest rate on an Eligible Account balance ("Regular Interest"), plus the promotional annual interest rate ("Promotional Interest") that is calculated at the end of the Offer Period on the Additional Balance (as defined below). Eligible Accounts will continue to earn Regular Interest on balances calculated daily and paid monthly. The Promotional Interest is calculated at the end of the Offer Period on the portion of an Eligible Account's average daily closing balance during the Offer Period that exceeds the closing balance as at June 30, 2021 (the "Additional Balance") to a maximum of $500,000 in Additional Balances aggregated across all of a primary account holder's Eligible Accounts. Promotional Interest will be paid in November 2021 into a single Eligible Account held by a primary account holder. Interest rates may change at any time without notice. Offer is non-transferable and cannot be combined with other promotional rate offers, and may be changed or cancelled at any time without notice. Other conditions and restrictions apply. Click here for the full terms and conditions of this offer.

They always only match Tangerine. At least do a little bit more

We both got this offer after logging in and we both have accepted it. However, money is at manulife so not until September that we will move it to Simplii. Hopefully by end of October, Tangerine will have some offer so we can move it there

I got the offer, accepted it, and it was confirmed by email. Unlike the last 2 times a similar offer came up with Simplii where I accepted it, and then got no confirmation or actual promo rate.

I was on 1.5% promo rate until Oct 31 but had funds in tangerine as they were giving 1.75% until July 15.

Simplii has bumped their offer to 2% and extended to Feb 28, got the offer when I signed into my acct today.
Same here. I'm wondering if the 1.5% and 2% will stack since the promos overlap for Sep & Oct.. Hmm..

I got the 2 % today and there was a note saying they do stack during the overlap.

I don't think it will stack. you get 1.5% for Sep & Oct, then 2% thereafter till Feb 28 (my interpretation from their T&C). What they said about the good news is you don't need to deposit new money to get the 2%

My understanding is that the money earning 1.5% will continue earning 1.5% until Oct 31, thereafter it will earn 0.10% rate. However, eligible deposits in Sept or Oct will earn at 2% rate.

The grandfathered balance (Aug 31 balance) consists of both 0.10% and 1.5% Promotional amounts.

It's a roundabout way of SF turning your 1.5% earning balance of Aug 31 into 0.10% on Nov. 1.

You maybe right, thanks for the explanation as that makes more sense
