Bike Bandits Stealing Cell Phones.

I was changing channels earlier and caught this news on Inside Edition.

Can't imagine something like that happening in Toronto; cyclists are too busy getting killed by distracted drivers this year.

Joking aside, I'm not surprised this is a thing now. I wonder if this is on the rise in 'burbs where people bike on sidewalks due to a lack of bike paths. Some bikes whizz by quite close, which always worries me. Not only because it's dangerous, but because of the idea that they can pluck stuff right out of my hands and speed on by. Maybe a case with a built-in lanyard would solve this problem.

What with the 'punch a stranger' FUD fading from memory - this seems like the perfect replacement FUD for media to ratchet up public paranoia!
