Neither is "better", one is a bulb and the other can control something plugged into it, including a bulb. I guess you could say that the plugs are better in terms of flexibility but if you are just using them for lamps, the bulbs are cheaper.

From my understanding those are rated at 10A and the globe are rated at 15A.
