You can still use the 10% ( instead of 7% ) on the bottom one to bring it down a bit more but yes, some items have changed.

Consider possibility of smaller rim+tire combo to save $$$
My stock all-seasons are 235/60/18. For winters, can I go 235/65/17? 235/60/17? Not sure what the rule of thumb is.

There is no rule of thumb as there are many factors to consider. If you are unsure of what you are doing, consult an expert.

I'm hoping someone can help me out since i'm purchasing winter tires for the first time. I'm looking to get Conti Viking Contact 7 215/55/r16 for my civic hatchback. I'm assuming we have to buy rims separate and have them installed and i'm looking to get steel wheels. How do i find the right fitting? Thanks in advance!

Usually, the vendor will have catalogue of wheels sizes/models, and you tell them which car you have and they match up the exact model of wheel that will fit. Different wheels have a different bore (hub diameter), offset, and bolt pattern/sizing.

You can certainly buy them from Costco and the tires at the same time and get everything mounted and installed in one shot. For a 2020 Civic EX, here are the list of wheels from the Costco site. https://www.c-wheels.ca/en/fitmentsearc ... &year=2020

Was looking at the Pirelli Cinturato P7 All Season Plus 2 at Black Circles, the price didn't change after Sept 1st ($130.99 for 205/55/16)

BLACK CIRCLE
PIRELLI Cinturato P7 All Season Plus 2
205/55 R16 V (91)

quantity select (x4)
CA $523.96

Delivery
VIPCIRCLE2021 (10 %) - CA $52.40
Environmental Fee CA $16.00
Total before taxes CA $487.56
Taxes CA $63.38
Total CA $550.94

Black Circle final price $550.94 after tax without balancing/mounting

Glad I waited for Costco Labor Day 20% off instead:

COSTCO
PIRELLI CINTURATO P7 A/S+2 205/55R16 91V 110,000KM WARRANTY
Item #1437095 $129.99
Quantity 4
Total $519.96

TIRE LEVY $16.00

TIRE INSTALLATION $79.96

Subtotal $615.92
HST (H) $66.55

Discount on Order $103.99 (20% off for 4 tires @ 519.96)
Order Total $578.48 (Final price after tax including tire installation)

For comparison purpose, the Costco price without balancing/mounting is ($578.48 - ($79.96 * 1.13)) = $488.13, versus Black Circle price $550.49.

I remember last year Costco Labor Day sale there was manufacturer rebate on top of the 20%. I picked up a set of Bridgeston Blizzzak DM-V2 snow tires (245/60R18) for $976.24 all-in with tire installation and also $70 Costco gift card (manufacturer rebate). Not sure how much the price went up since last year but the price now on BlackCircle is $953.67 after tax no balancing/mounting.

Next time if I'm planning to buy tires I'll probably just wait for the Costco Labor Day flash sale (if they keep doing it every year).

Yup, it's a good deal. My price at Costco is $831 installed, and currently BlackCircles is $1054 installed (I'm pretty sure it was just under $1000 when I checked a month ago, but either way, I'm saving a lot)

Of course, it doesn't help you if you want continentals or nokians.....but I plan on buying Michelins for both my cars in the future.

No problem! I should add that my size is 235/45r/17, maybe it's not a common size so less turnover in stock... my friend also bought the same tires from blackcircle but different size for his 2021 sienna and his were made in 48/20. I tried asking Blackcircle for newer ones but no luck obviously...they said they get tires from different warehouses all over the country.

It's actually cheaper at costco right now to buy the Pirelli Cinturato P7 All Season Plus 2tires than it was on a labour day. The labour day offer was 20% off, and right now, for this week, Costco is doing an instant rebate of $130 on a set of 4 Pirelli tires. So it's like actually getting 25% off instead of 20%. I bought the same tires in the same size you had mentioned on labour and called in yesterday to request a price adjustment.

Got a set of General Grabber Arctics through BlackCircles: purchased on 9/7, arrived 9/9 via FedEx. Used the flash 10% off discount, which came out $50 less for a full set versus next best online price that I could find. All four tires were fresh off the line with a July 2021 mfg date.

I gave them a call after placing my order to inquire about tire age and their policies:
- Phone was answered very quickly (in comparison, Quattro don't seem to be accepting calls anymore?)
- Agent (Robert) was very nice to deal with
- Their policy is max tire age of 36mo
- Agent advised mfg (could be specific to General) advertises shelf life of 10y, 5y of 'driving life'

Prices on aftermarket alloys have also increased in the past 2-3 weeks. I was after TRD Pro replica wheels and witnessed a 20% price increase in early September. You snooze, you lose. Ended ordering a set from WheelsCo, had a very positive experience there so far.

Needed to replace my all seasons and winters this year so ended up going with a set of Continental Pure Contacts and Continental Viking 7s. Got them installed today with no issues. Manufacture date was Feb 2021 and June 2021 respectively. Very happy with the experience!
