We had this card. The bonus and the 4 lounge passes were good, when we traveled last year. Too bad, not traveling for a while.

Is there a timeframe where one is not eligible if this credit card was owned in the past? For example scotia passport is 2 years. Does this have anything similar? I searched in the T&C and couldn't find anything. I closed my BMO world elite beginning of this year. Only thing I could find is
This offer is not available to current or former BMO World Elite Mastercard cardholders who reinstate a closed account or open a new account during the Offer Period. Existing BMO credit card cardholders who transfer into this product during the Offer Period are not eligible for this offer. If you cancel your card within ninety (90) days of account opening, the welcome bonus will be cancelled. This offer may be withdrawn or changed without notice.
But how long is a "former cardholder who open a new account"?

Also AFAIK 30k pts is $200 in investment, which can be a savings account too.

Ah I had no idea, but don’t worry, I’ll run future threads by you before I post them next time.

Maybe better off here:
credit-cards-f189/
and here:
bmo-world-elite-mastercard-2114812/

But ultimately it's a long-lived product and the offer might change slightly from time to time with tons of discussion over time.

Me too. Really found the lounge passes worth it over the years, except the few times that the lounges were at capacity and the wait to get it was too long to risk missing a flight. Hasn’t been a problem normally, but a few times.

Was a bit of a waste this year. I was hoping they’d waive the fee for 2020 since we can’t use it...or maybe let us carry over to next year. Or the next.

When I used this BMO to book travel, they put us on the worst stand-by flights (lowest class air tickets), so maybe never again.

Redeeming for giftcards is fine I guess. The 4 priority pass is also useful.

Debating between this and National Bank's travel card offer.

Worth noting you can now redeem to BMO savings accounts in the Invest section at a 15K per $100 redemption rate. Slightly worse than travel (14K per $100), but stronger than redeeming for gift cards/pay with points.

How do you get the lounge passes? Do you need to call them?

You're get the instructions. We loaded the app on our respective cellphones. Supposedly you can also just charge it to your card, and it knows the reimburse you, I didn't do it that way, just used the app as I can also see how many passes were used and outstanding.

Ongoing deals doesn't get you as much attention but it'd be much more appropriate for your posts of credit card sign up bonuses.
Always lovely getting criticism from people who have NEVER shared a deal to this forum. I've only ever posted 3 credit card deals: this one, PC Mastercard $100 PC point bonus, and a WestJet credit card promo... what are you talking about mate?

Originally, you also received a lounge pass card that you would show at the lounge. Now you just show/swipe your MasterCard at the lounge. Or it was that way back in 2019 before the world ended.

Anyone had this card before, cancelled, and applied for it again and got the FYF and points again? Their T&C does not mention a timeframe

I've used this card for a while, it's a fantastic travel card (airport lounge passes, travel insurance included, points pay for all of the flights, taxes and other included with no blackouts). I wouldn't say this is the best year for it given the lack of traveling, but if you're the type that travels on a plane twice a year, it's a great option.

Or you can just install the MasterCard Airport Experiences app and have them scan the QR code

Oh yeah, maybe. I forgot about that app. It used to be the priority app. Last travelled in June 2019 and I don’t exactly remember. I thought I just swiped the MasterCard.
