BMO Club Sobeys MasterCard/BMO Sobeys Air Miles MasterCard

While I was sleeping last night, I heard on a radio advert last night that there is a new MasterCard - called the BMO Club Sobeys MasterCard. If you are from Atlantic Canada, then the BMO Sobeys Air Miles MasterCard. I heard that the Citibank version of the Club Sobeys MasterCard has been abolished - partly due to CIBC's acquisition of Citibank's MasterCard portfolio.

The BMO Club Sobeys MasterCard allows you to earn 1 Club Sobeys point per every dollar spend. If you shop at Sobeys, you will get double points. For the Atlantic Canada version of that card, it's 1 Air Mile per $20CDN spent - quite identical to the regular No-fee Air Miles MasterCard.

If you people want to learn more about the card, click here: http://www.bmosobeys.com

My question is, what do you people have to say about this card? Also, the news releases can be founded here:

I don't wanna sound like a smart guy here, but you could save yourself a ton of money by simply not shopping at Sobeys. What an overpriced, low quality "food" store. I used to shop at Longos and thought that was overpriced, but Sobeys beats it by a mile. Longos at least has better quality food. now, I may be generalizing as the only Sobeys I shop is the one at Bremner, but I doubt it. On that note, if anyone can recommend a good place to shop for food downtown, I am all ears.

I saw this too and I checked it out for the Aeroplan points conversion however when I went to the Aeroplan website they clearly state that you cannot use the points earned from the MC to be converted to Aeroplan points.

Darn.

I have the CITI Sobeys card and its the only card that can earn aeroplan points with $0 annual fees.

So now i don't get aeroplan points anymore because of the switch?

Wow that really sucks. Wonder why? Probably related to bmo's affiliation with air miles i guess~

Well the Citi sobeys card is switching to BMO.
My card is supposed to expire on a certain day and I'm to use the new BMO card.
I guess I still have conversion until I get my BMO card.

I applied for the card last week, but didn't know that at the time. That sucks.

They would need to keep track of which Sobeys points are earned by shopping at Sobeys and can be converted, and which are from MC and cannot be converted.
