Tying up $250k for about 6 months to earn $500?

Probably only worth it if you’re investing and you consider BMO’s account viable… Else you’re tying up a lot of capital for minimal gain…

I guess it depends on your situation. My cibc and Scotia offer from spring just ended, so now I can consolidate into bmo and get $1k.

Are people down voting BMO invest platform or the promo or the 9.95 commission fee or all the above?? RBC has been pretty expensive at 9.95 trades. CIBC is bearable with 6.95..

It probably out of reach for them to take advantage of, to me it no different than churning credit cards. Since these are my buy and hold stocks, might as well make a few hundreds by submitting an application. Between BMO, CIBC and Scotia in the spring offer, I got $2050.

Stand corrected, not the best offer since BMO had $800 for 250k in the spring, Scotia $750 for 250k and cibc $500 for 250k

The low tier at $250k is a pretty high threshold to qualify for the lowest bonus. Too rich for me.
