BMW X3 ~ DTC: P00BD, P0172 and Drivetrain Malfunction Msg ???

Vehicle
2011 BMW X3 35i

Problem
OBD DTC: P00BD, P0172. BMW On-screen display: "Drivetrain Malfunction". When accelerating even a little bit the vehicle tends to rev higher than normal.

Troubleshooting
Replaced both Air Filter + MAF Sensor; Did Not Resolve -- after replacing both parts I drove for 30 mins then re-seated everything and drove again for +10 mins. Problem persisted. I could not erase the DTC code with my OBD tool.

I'd appreciate any troubleshooting steps before taking it into BMW. Crying Face

Multiple Identifix reports on air intake leaks for this model and code.

If you can't see anything visually, do a smoke test.

UPDATE

I performed a smoke test. It led me to an area below the air filter. After some research i believe the part to be "Charge air induction tract" (bmw part # 13717604033). I'm ordering a replacement off Amazon. Is it normal for the end which attaches to the throttle body to have engine oil in it? See video. No clue where it could have come from.
