Boiled water for powder formula

If baby is over 6 months old, is it necessary to boil water for powder formula if your city's tap water source is good? For example, in Canada, Vancouver and Toronto have very clean tap water.

Boiling water is more to take care of any harmful organisms/bacteria than filtered particulates.

The question back to you is, would you want to take a chance? And you're basing the need to boil water off of the assumption that the tap water is adequate. So - what if that assumption is wrong? Or are you saying for certain that you can guarantee that the water source is good?

Personally I boiled water every time until they got off the bottle.

My twins are 9 months old and I still use boiled water. I plan to keep boiling until 1 yr old when we start introducing cow's milk and stop the formula.
I've read that you can use tap after 6 months but I'm not comfortable with that.

My youngest is 15. The 6 month age recommendation hasn't changed since then. Most people don't boil it properly or long enough to be effective anyways. What does your doctor say? I didn't boil water after 6 months. They are putting all kinds of stuff in their mouths at that age.

Alberta health recommends boiling for the first 4 months. Not sure what other health authorities say but that's what we followed and had no issues.
