If I buy for 600$ can I redeem 2x 200K and get 600$ discount?
I'd like to know too. I believe max is 500k redemption points per transaction (?) Please correct me if I am wrong.

In this scenario, which points balance counts towards the max? Ie. 200k redeem for 300k. I'm assuming this would count as redeeming 300k of the 500k max.

i don't see why not. would have to be 2 transactions though and you'd have to pay tax on the $300

Can I buy gift card with point?

I dont know how to spend my point...

Beside milk/eggs and electronic..... I find everything is overpriced...

I was saving point for a ps4 pro... But bought one last tuesday at 20% plus 20x point...

Now sitting with 800k point :S

I would like to buy Maxi gift card... Or spend my coin there... But bonus redemtion will be sdm exclusive again.
I have the same problem... never know how to use these points as everything seems overpriced @SDM.

3. 50% redemption bonus

I just want to make sure I understand this correctly. 50% redemption bonus would be a record high, no? I thought 40% was the precious high and very hard to come by.
It depends how you look at it. The best way to get $450 worth of stuff at SDM was the 40% points rebate offer from before Christmas. At that time, you would spend 450K points but get 180K points rebated, for a net expense of 270K points.
Here, that same $450 of stuff costs you 300K points straight up. So, not quite the highest redemption level, but better if you don't have the 450K points upfront.
Bottom line, both are a great use of your points, provided you can spend that much at SDM.

They'd have to be separate transactions. In the past you could redeem as many points as you want it's just the first 200k that would get you a bonus. The next 200k would be redeemed at regular value

Has anyone got their bonus points from December 31st? They said they would be added to your account two weeks later (today)? Screenshot attached for what I mean.

Edit: got my points (jan 15)

I know the redemption is deducted after the tax amount, but the requirement amount is before tax or after tax?

For example, 200k for $300, do I have to actually spend $300 before the tax or I just need to spend $300 after tax (~$268 in BC)?

spend them at other stores. no frills, loblaws, super store.
Buy items on sale at SDM, then they are cheaper.

Before tax. You cannot use your points to pay any of the taxes.

I don't understand why you are using 450 spend as being the measurement when maximum value on this promotion would be spending $300.

The best deal so far is when you get the holy grail of 20% off regular priced items AND 20x coupon. If you are talking about just one promo then the 50% is the best IF you are spending just $300. If you go over that, eventually any discount would be better.

People can argue til they are blue in the face ( I did ) but 50% is better than 40%. IF you spend $300 only, that is IF you spend $300 only you use 200k points. For the 40% redemption you would only receive 80k points back for 200 spend, here you receive $100 on the same 200.

It is fair to argue time value and the downside of this event is that you need to spend exactly $300 in order to gain maximum benefit. Once you start going over that amount, the benefit decreases as other promotions are not spend limited. You can also argue that it's hard to find $300 exactly of competitively priced items. This event is not for more expensive consoles.

There are other arguments you can make but when it comes to actual calculated value this is the best return of them all.....IF you spend just $300.

EDIT: forgot the other calculation/condition. It only works if you only have less that 300k points. If you had 300k points the 40% would be better.

A little bit off topic, but does any experts know if you can combine PC optimum points like you can with SDM points in the past? (moving my points to my wife's so we can take advantage of the 200K points deal) I tried googling and all info I could find was for the old SDM point merging tool.
