Now that you mention it, I remember going to a bar that had a table and stools that clearly didn't match. My feet were dangling and it was uncomfortable as hell.
Not all kids learn the same way as one would figure/hope. Let's say I know someone who has kids that are quite oblivious and it's not because of lack of trying by the parents for years. So preventive measures would/should definitely be called for.
I have two kids. It IS hard to teach them not to kick. I had to remind them hundreds of times, kindly and angrily. It is hard, parenting is hard, doesn't mean we should avoid it.
