I gotta chime in . I use these plugs and bulbs and all the issues mentioned are easily fixed .

Yes wifi is not needed AP mode or Bluetooth works . Turn Bluetooth on just to pair it . The globe app says 2.4 ok but will connect if your device is on 5ghz.

Globe has patched and updated the app . Old globe software was flakey new globe software much better . Alexa will add it once paired but google needs to have the globe app synced within the Google home app.

Suprised no one mentioned globe makes most of the street lights in your town . Why I stuck with them .

Yea stick to one brand Thumbs Up Sign I did the smart bulb shuffle and all the apps needed to pair them all sucks .

Great product for the price.

I was able to name my duo plugs as well as their individual outlets. I can confirm that you can control things separately or all at once using the Google Home app and/or voice commands.

In the Globe app; the plug itself has a pencil icon to give you a hint but the individual outlets give no indication they can be edited. By chance I tapped on the default name of an outlet and a text editor appeared. The new name populated in the Google Home app and you can also rename there, if you want. I haven’t touched the Globe app after the initial setup.

Don’t have Alexa so I can’t comment on that.

Edit: @sswilson hope this helps you to rename your outlets.

As far as I can tell, only the app can control the individual switches. Telling alexa to "turn on XXX lights S1 or S2" affects both switches so for alexa and google it's essentially a ganged two plug switch (which works fine for controlling both the window and christmas tree lights.... :) ).

edit: See the above post. There's no indication of an edit function but if you tap on the switch name in the app it gives you the option to edit it, and that name is then recognized by Alexa.

I missed this post when I posted my last. I'll have another look at that to see if I can name the individual plugs.

edit: Confirmed that I was able to rename the individual switches and that Alexa is able to control them individually via that name, yet still able to control both at the same time using the unit name.

Thanks for the tip!

Homeassistant (if it supports your new device) does a good job of consolidating as well.

Recently switched from shaw to Telus wifi 6 fibre gig internet and now none of my smart plugs work.

Can't get them to connect even with both methods the Telus tech suggested. (Tried disabling 5ghz and using smarthome)
