I recommend non alcoholic beer. Less fun arguably but it tastes the same without the negative consequences. Plus it's cheaper.

I imagine the percentage of people who drink beer for the taste is pretty minuscule. There are much better tasting beverages if non-alcoholic is the goal... lemonade chief among them in the summer. That's usually what I keep in the fridge.

I'm an extremely light drinker (a six pack in the fridge will take me 1-2 months to get through, and I might have one pint of beer with dinner when I go out to eat), but I still get mildly annoyed by people who try to tell me why I shouldn't drink alcohol, period. It's the same emotion I feel when people go around pimping their religion instead of just tastefully practicing it in private.

Personally, I avoid the crappy North American lagers and drink UK ales or maybe a domestic craft beer if I am feeling adventurous.

On most days I'm with you. But this weekend it should be about ice cold cheap mass market domestics FTW!
