That's so true. Large and refillable iced coffees at Mc D's were $1. Then they cheaped out downsized it to medium only and eventually not refillable. Coffee is cheap and they'd have to brew it anyways.ConnorsCompShow wrote: ↑ Good move to capitalize on McDonald's being cheapskates by adding a quarter on to large drinks just because.
Why settle for full retail price when you can wait and get it at a lower price for better value (even better if there's a bundled freebies deal)? 😉

If you don't care for fries, you're basically going to order a separate order of Whopper w/ bacon for $1 through the app, then just order XL drink for $1. Done deal, $2+ tax for whopper + bacon and a drink.
Whereas, McDonalds currently at some locations can only get you maybe a BOGO for McDouble THEN you buy a MEDIUM size drink for $1.

For what it's worth I've never had any troubles at all (at least before coronavirus) with refills in the Winnipeg area, sans Cityplace (but that one's a dump anyway). Some franchisees have a sign up limiting people to just 1, while others are completely fine with more, just as long as you're not taking it out and back in again like it's 7-Eleven.
Some of the other provinces' franchisees are seemingly stingier on this and other things like making delivery app drivers SMS as their method of checking in.

I found the one in my Walmart doesn't do refills and yes, you must consume the drink within the restaurant to be eligible for refills -- no in-and-out privileges. I have also found that my experience is different at different locations with some being very generous and some being extremely stingy with things like napkins and refills. In other words, YMMV.ConnorsCompShow wrote: ↑ For what it's worth I've never had any troubles at all (at least before coronavirus) with refills in the Winnipeg area, sans Cityplace (but that one's a dump anyway). Got a large Cherry Coke with default ice.
Good initial taste and the cherry is good not as strong as Dr Pepper. I prefer McDonald's ice and straw of course. Noticed near the end of the drink it started tasting flat.
Overall still good for the Cherry Coke and iced tea varieties at BK plus the large size.

My bad, didn't realize it was an offer. Thought it was just the menu pricing like McDonalds does.Dhanushan wrote: ↑ Will not work since you can not combine offers.

I've seen a couple McDonalds here that have signage saying that they price match competitors coupons to comparable McDonalds products. Don't know if this is store dependant or McDonalds wide though.... So you might get a large drink as well for $1 at McDonald's. (Been charged anywhere from $1.25-1.75 for a large soft drink at McDonald's. I hate that pricing is not consistent across locations)
