Buy & Ship from Cabela's and Costco US to CA

A lot of this comes down to Company Policies

You need to check their websites for that info

Cabelas like Costco has a .ca one … so they may have rules surrounding Cdns ordering from their .com websites for shipment to Canada

This is quite common with American Cos that have a Cdn presence … it’s a way of protecting their market interest they’ve invested heavily into for Canada

Some Cos … like LL Bean for example … have Cdn Stores now … but allow Cdns to shop on either their .ca or .com websites, and ship to Canada

Where others do not …
IIRC this is the case for Costco USA, as well as others like Home Depot, Lowe’s, Bed Bath & Beyond, etc

Some even go so far as to block Cdn CCs … or the addresses of Parcel Drop Services who will push product North to Canada

So. …
First steps

1- Read the website shipping policies
2- Try to place an order … see if it goes thru or not
3- Try both your Cdn address … or one for a US Parcel Drop Service

If it works great …
Worse case scenario at this point … you have to get the Parcel Drop to push the item North to your home address
Or you have to drive over to pick it up

None of this works …
Then very little you can do
You’ll have to go over & buy in person

Or … I hear there are now US Personal Shopping Services who can shop for you and then arrange shipping
BUT … that’s uber expensive

Considering you are importing with no personal exemption
And the exchange these days is pushing $ 1.40
It’s prob not worth all the hassle to shop in the US
(Was recently there and after exchange … Americans are paying more than us for most things)

However … if it is worth it to you
Or something new and not yet available in Canada
Might be worth a road trip / weekend getaway
(Although hotels & food in the USA have also gone up a whole lot post Covid )

Your Canada Customs Personal Exemptions would be
$ 0 Cdn up to 24 Hours away
$ 200 Cdn after 24 Hours away
$ 800 Cdn after 48 Hours away

Not entirely sure about Cabela's but with Costco, you don't.
Good luck even using a reshipper because Costco has a list of most of them and has banned delivery to them.
