Buying Costco Tires, Can you get a refund for install?

Buying Costco Tires, Can you get a refund for install?

I see costco has a special on tires now and considering buying something however it seems to automatically add install. Has anybody had luck getting a refund on install if you dont want it? The special ends today and I dont see an option at check out not to include install?

Non-installed Tires

If the Costco Tire Centre does not install your tires, if applicable, you will be refunded $19.99 per tire, plus any applicable taxes. If you choose not to accept your tires, you will receive a full refund for your order, including the $19.99 per tire install (if applicable) and disposal fee, plus any applicable sales tax.

Best to call the tire centre that you will ship to to be sure, but I'm pretty sure you can just buy the tires, ie get credited for the cost of install. I mean, it's Costco after all.

Just found it on their website

Any reason you don't want the install? $20 for mount + balance + install is a pretty good deal.

Its $20/per tire.

Its to early to mount the tires, so I dont want to have to dig them out then to store them in the cold as the tires I'm buying have very soft rubber and can degrade in stored in cold conditions. Also I need to go to my mechanic to get a few other things done in a month or 2 so I rather just do everything in 1 shot & my mechanic has a RoadForce Balancing machine which is much better then the regular ones (not sure what costco uses) Also I don't trust just anybody working on my car.

Usually the specials go on rotation so in a month or two you'll probably see it on sale again.

You can probably buy the tires and book the appointment for a later time no? $20/tire is a really good deal nowadays. Most places charge like $30+ per tire.

In general Costco does a good job with tires since that's what the staff does all day. Unless you've got some super low profile tires and expensive rims just go with Costco.
