Buying land and having a house built vs. having the builder do it all
Let's say vacant lots are $100k and the building + landscaping, etc. is another $400k.
All in through the builder it would be $500k.
Is there any reason why someone might want to purchase the land outright and then have the builder build on their land? HST implications? Liability implications?
I feel like I can get a lot cheaper than the builder is quoting me; probably by at least $15k.
