If you get it on EBAY from refurbio they have a code PRELOVED for 10% off, so it's $450 and free shipping. In general their items are slightly higher price don ebay but the code makes it a few bucks cheaper overall.

I almost pulled the trigger, but that matte screen protector really ruins the experience according to my googling.

i5 4th gen is passable. Otherwise a great system. For the price, it's hard to beat.

I have a matte screen on my zenbook, I love it compared to the glossier look. What's the drawback? Unless you need touchscreen features I guess but I don't personally want touchscreen.

Should be fine with all that except 4K.

Ordered one before Easter prior to it was out of stock.

Got mine delivered this week. The screen is indeed 2560x1440. Grade A condition. No scratch, ding etc on the top case, screen nor the keyboard and touch pad. Only a minor worn mark on the bottom case.

Downloaded and installed Lenovo Vantage app to do the following.

1. Updated all firmwares and drivers.
2. Hardware scan shows no problem.
3. Checked that its original 3 year warranty expired in mid 2017.
4. Currently recalibrating the battery gauge to allow Windows to accurately assess the battery capacity.

Very useful Lenovo app not to be missed.

I do not notice that it is using a matte screen.
But I am happy with the resolution and colour rendition of the screen.

Hey OP, are you sure there's optical DVD on this X1? Read on the site that no X1 comes with DVD.

Otherwise this is like one of those dream laptops I always wanted when I was younger.. kinda like kids with the Ferrari poster :) Anyone bought one and can comment on the condition of this refurb?

The laptop looks and feels great and is very light even by today's standards. It has an excellent display with high contrast and great colors (hugely better compared to my Dell P2314H monitor). Supports fast charging. I was very lucky to get a used one with an i7 processor for $450 for a friend in Nov 2016.

How is the battery life on those refurbished units?

I won't pull the trigger though, i5 4th gen isn't really future proof.

Specs state: "Optical: DVD" not seeing it on either side with site pictures. Must be a USB accessory included?

then Overview says "X1 Carbon's do not come with DVD or DVD-RW drives."

A link would have been appreciated. But anyway the coupon applies *only* after taxes are calculated, so it's a bit more than $450.
Happy Koodo Public Mobile customer :-)
