[Cabelas] The North Face® McMurdo III Parka $191.24 Warm deal??

This appears to be cheaper than anywhere else I can find in Canada. Tis the season to be buying winter clothes. Various sizes available and free shipping. Should be an easy pricebeat with Cabelas being a national chain.

I have this jacket.

it's nice but the hood is a bit small if you have over ear headphones

Agreed. I have the jacket too and my only complaint is the damn hood. Way too small, even without headphones. Otherwise, very warm jacket.

Would this be warm enough for Saskatoon Weather? Like -40 -50 range

I was in SK during the winter with my McMurdo 2, a lot of people don't know but it's second in warmth only to the Canada Goose Expedition as per Outdoor Gear Lab.

So yes.

I'd say hot deal. I was winter jacket shopping this year and the McMurdo was $450 everywhere.

I've been wearing my McMurdo for 10yrs now. My complaint is the hood being too big LoL. Maybe new design made them much smaller.

For under $200, it's best bang for a super warm jacket. The warmth is Comparable to my wife's $1k CG jacket. She ends up wearing mine often because it covers her knees. 🤣

I don't get it why folks down vote this deal. I have the Gotham 3. This jacket is longer than that, with the same 550 down. Gotham 3 is a very warm jacket and I have survived -40C wind chill with that. This is definitely a hot deal. Thanks for sharing.

Thank OP, upvoted. So let me see if I got that right: the price is great, but OP is being downvoted because... the hood is too small when wearing headphones? #1stWorldProblems

North Face is actually back in style, but most of RFD doesn't know that yet. Lol. This is a very hot deal.

TNF is pretty heavy and very warm. If they paid more attention to details, like their bad hoods, cuffs and waist letting cold air in and excess weight, it would be the hottest jacket around.

Thanks for posting, OP! Seems like a hot deal. Any ideas on where to price match?

Is it actually small or is it fitted, or is it just the style where you have to put the hood on your head before you zip all the way up, and that keeps the hood on your head and from being blow off? That is a better design that I find Columbia and TNF are utilizing more often now because it keeps the cold air out.

Read the reviews at Mec.ca before buying this jacket - they are less than flattering.

the jacket fits fine. it's just the hood if you have an above average size head and use over ear headphones you might find it a tight fit.

I bought this jacket 8 years ago in Toronto. I moved to Saskatoon in 2017 and I can say that it is warm enough for -40 and -50. The only cold spot for me seems to be in the crook of the elbows. It's a little light there on the down.
