A 250k one bedroom in a new building in Calgary rents for 1,300. I don't think 500k 1 bedroom in Toronto rents for 2,600.
Also no commie rental laws like in Ontario. And I have been following Calgary real state for 3 years. The rent has definitely gone up. Property prices, not so much. So what....

I bought one. My plan is to continue renting the unit with the same property management company for $75/month. I talked to lot of ppl who residing in Calgary before making the decision and most of them said don’t expect much appreciation on the condo, but will have some +ve cash flow per month.
