Can a condo charge an admin fee for a lease transfer?

please help,,

I just want a sub-lease, like a lease transfer.

I spoke with the manager about that. he said I have to pay the one month of rent fee to find a new tenant.

is it normal?

it's almost $1000..

You have check the declaration and by-laws of the building for the answer. Ask the manager to tell you which paragraph.

Read the wording carefully as even if there are lease transfer fees they are not likely to talk about sub-lease.

- If not than complain to CMRAO or Condo tribunal. (assuming Ontario)

- If yes, you can argue they are unreasonable or against the Tenant Act but, those legal fights are very expensive and not a DIY job in small claims.
