Can I use paslode 3 1/4x.120 ring shank nails for framing?

Can I use paslode 3 1/4x.120 ring shank nails for framing?

Hi all.

Wondering if it’s up to code to use these nails for framing ? These look like they are clipped.

right length, right gauge, go for it...

Did you happen to be building with pressure treated on your previous project?

Most municipalities require full round head nails for structural walls. If it's not structural then doesn't matter

Framed a few dozen houses in my short career of framing, in three different municipalities, every crew used the standard paslode coated clipped head nails...

as far as nails went, inspectors only looked for one nail per nominal 2" of board width

Clipped heads are ok for OBC, the clipped head is still large enough. I did read about US states banning clipped heads for framing after 'pull throughs' causing failures when Katrina hit in South and I think Sandy in New Jersey.
