Can regular garden hose be used to drain hot water from hot water tank

As per title, is the hot water too hot for regular garden hose?

Or, maybe, turn off the hot water tank for an hour, use the remaining hot water for laundry/shower and etc. Then, the water in hot water tank will be cold or warm. Then, i use regular garden hose to drain the remaining warm/cold water in hot water tank?
