You know the 3.78L plastic jugs we all buy....there are millions of them going in the garbage. I tried google but did not get any good info.

ps the bottom of the jug says HDPE with a #2 inside some arrows....

City of Ottawa takes them with the regular recycling. Some gas stations also have a large bin for recycling them.

throw them in your recycle bin and find out.

they are probably not as bad as the contents... the millions of litres of washer fluid that's pumped into the environment every year

Yeah... the fluid that gets released into the environment is scary.

It would help, but not entirely stop splashing, and dirty windows. A more environmentally friendly WW fluid would help.

In the summer we use water some kind of a soap thats easy on the cars paint.

I never thought of using water and soap for summer windshield cleaners. How do you do it? or what's the formula? can you share?

Any kind of a soap that is kind to paint - I'd tell you but my wife buys it and I never took notice. If I can find a bottle I'll post. For formula, it was concetrated so I believe it was about an ounce to the w/w container. It cut grease well so was good for bug guts.

I m not sure about that..

Dish Soap strips the current layer of wax right off the car on contact...

so then you would have a completely exposed clear coat and will dramatically decrease the longevity of the paintjob

Um, didn't say dish soap. Using dish soap to wash your car is Washing 101 no-no.
