If you want to haggle, go to a mom and pop store. What makes you think a large retailer is going to haggle with you?

Why wouldn't you just try and see what happens? Worst they can do is say no.

You can *always* haggle in many stores, although I suggest talking to the duty manager when it's not busy. The worst that can happen is that they'll say no. However, I find that they'll rarely do that if you're standing there willing to buy the item.

You can haggle furniture/mattress/appliance prices at sears. The truth is there is a huge markup on furniture.

You don't ever haggle over large ticket items such as electronics or furniture at large retailers?

You can -always- haggle. That is the rfd way
When given enough time, all threads on RFD can and will go off on a tangent.

I've worked at Bombay for a while. Only if you see any imperfections on the item they will knock a couple of dollars off, I haven't seen any customers that tried to haggle.
