Can you help with "there was a problem parsing the package" error?

I have tvip 605 tv box that has been laying around for months. I wanted to use it in the bedroom once in a while.

The problem is I keep getting "there was a problem parsing the package" error when I try to install tivimate or smarters pro. or ANY other app. My question is WHYYYYYY?

I have reset the box many times. Gave permissions. Enabled USB debugging. Downloaded correct version (armeabi-v7a version) from apk pure. tried from USB stick and from SD card. NOTHING. What am doing wrong?

Any help would be great.

My guess is you are trying to load APKs that are not meant to work on the Android version your box has. What's the Android version on it? If it's very old the developers might have dropped support for it. It may be the other way around. Android is too new on it and APKs are old.

The version is compatible with my box's Android version (5) and +.

Try using split apk installer.
