I guess that's why it's so much cheaper than m.2 960 500GB.

would my Dell XPS 13 XPS9360 (2017 model) that has M.2 SSD currently work with this drive?

Great price but you're paying for a PCIe x2 (not x4 that's available pervasively now).

I just hope you realize that hardly any games benefit from an NVMe drive in terms of load times. You would be much better off with a cheaper and larger capacity drive. The real use of these NVMe drives is as a boot drive and with more professional applications.

Yes, it might be a useful upgrade if your current drive is smaller but there's a good chance your current drive is as fast or faster than the AData.

It is a pcie3 x2 - still an NVMe - Which means it is theoretically twice the speed of a regular SSD that's using 1 pcie lane, thus the listed speed we are seeing.
It is as cheap as a regular SSD of the same capacity, so it's still a very decent deal.

Comparing to a pcie gen3x4 that we see in other higher end NVMe drive, it is about half the speed. But realistically you are not going to see a drastic difference especially for just normal usage.

I have a order on Amazon for the Samsung EVO 500Gb NVMe
I know the Samsung one is faster than the ADATA one (in benchmark)

But in real world, do I'll see any difference?

In my opinion, every intervention in RFD deserve a "thanks". Thanks given until now: more than 100,000

I have a evo to boot but for apps not so much. Unless you like to run crystal disk alot.

Agreed. I have an EVO 960 NVMe. Coming from a 840 Pro SSD. In real world use the difference is negligible. Boot times are faster by a few seconds, but they were already very fast with the 840 Pro.

Will you notice an increase in speed from a regular ssd?

2 x PCI Express x16 slots, running at x16 (PCIEX16_1/PCIEX16_2) (Note 2)
2 x PCI Express x16 slot, running at x8 (PCIEX8_1/PCIEX8_2) (Note 3) (The PCIEX16_1, PCIEX16_2, PCIEX8_1 and PCIEX8_2 slots conform to PCI Express 2.0 standard.)
2 x PCI Express x1 slots
1 x PCI slot

So this is my desktop PCI adapters, does this one work with any slot above? PCIe Gen3x2 is a bit confusing.

It depends on the app you are running. Windows boot might be faster by a few seconds. I can confirm that we will get the advertised speeds on the box.

nope, unless you like benchmark numbers

you need an M.2 slot. These are just your PCIe slots, unless you want to buy adapter.

yes. just know it's from an unknown seller, it will be unknown quality.
But like I said, performances from regular ssd isn't much noticeable, plus some older motherboards will have issue loading pcie storage, what are you trying to achieve?

I just have an old X58 system, and try to use this as my gaming drive.

nice. but too old to recognize pcie drive as boot drive, which is where you'd see most of the speed improvement, 99% sure. It might work as a storage drive, but not boot drive.

I already have a SSD as a boot drive, via SATA. Thanks for your tip.
