Not really a good deal. You can build similar for cheaper, not to mention the old CPU and GPU combo.

$772 w/o Windows, so add 100 for Windows this deal is like $20 off: https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/nW4wRJ

9th gen i5 and 1660 for $820 w/o Windows: https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/krvvpG

If it is $650 I would think it is a good deal.
If it is $450, I would jump even I don't need one.
At $850, I feel it is not even warm.
I bought my PC for $850, AMD Ryzen 2700, Radeon RX580, 16 gb ram last year.
That equals to $600~$650 for this pc at now price, I think.
PM $13/30 days, 250MB with unlimited incoming

All that fluff in the title, and not the price. Wish I could wiki edit these diarrhea titles.

As others said, deal is cold. The gpu is old, the cpu is old. At that price I'm expecting at least an i7 with a minimum of gtx 1060...
Worth around $600-700
😎Thanks RFD😎

I partially blame RFD. They put the retailer in the title automatically now, but not the price.

Yes, deal is cold. With the AMD's new Ryzen cpus and Navi gpus being released on July 7th, I would be holding off. Just my two cents...

Hey Guys,
Miranda, welcome to RFD.

Some constructive feedback for future threads:
- Keep your titles sweet and to the point
- Include pricing in the title
- Include special restrictions in the title (e.g. Prime Only, USA, QC Only, etc.)

Don't say 'hot' or 'warm', which to your credit you've avoided, simply share and let us absorb.

I've given you an upvote for the effort.

God bless.

If this post is any indication, you're quite thoughtful already.

I'm all for a good comparison, but how does this post add any value? You...
  • picked a cheapo $18 mATX case, when the listing has a decent mid tower deepcool case with a side window (minimum $60)
  • picked a kingston a400 sata ssd - that's one of the worst ssd available and it's sata3, while the CanCom listing shows an NVME ssd
  • most of the retailers listed would not offer free shipping, so a buyer would have to purchase components from SIX different stores
  • claim "this deal is like $20 off" but it's a fully assembled machine and OS is installed, ready to use
Upvoted the deal, thanks for the effort OP.

  • Sure, add the $60 case. Now the deal is $60 off.
  • Nowhere does it say NVME. M.2 format doesn't mean it's NVME speed. It could still be SATA3 speed.
  • Sure, add $40 for shipping. Now the deal is $100 off. $100 off for 2-3 year old stock. What a great deal!
  • I said including Windows, the deal is $20 off.
The list is to show what you can expect to pay for the parts listed in the thread, and what you can expect to pay for newer parts.

Keep nitpicking, because that adds extreme contribution to this ice cold thread.

That's not how math works - your parts list cost increased over $40 and it's still missing the $100 OS

If you alter your link and add one of the deepcool ATX towers, the price rises to $820 without OS. Add the $100 OS and that's $920 for the parted-out system. We're already $70 higher than the linked system, so I believe that would at least make it somewhat warm, not "ice cold" as you indicated.

I missed the part about it being just m2, not nvme oops.

Welcome to RFD!
Put a price in title usually helps.
It could be something like "Aeon i5-8, 8gb, 1050ti, 256SSD for $850"
PM $13/30 days, 250MB with unlimited incoming
Carrytel cable internet, 75m unltd, $35/30d
Zoomer $36/mo, 4gb loyalty plan
