This is the first time I've ever seen the 3300x in stock in Canada.

Also in stock @ Newegg, same price + $4.99 shipping.

Unicorn CPU, donkey pricing.

About 5% lesser performance than a 3600 for gaming, depending upon paired graphics card and resolution you're playing at... but this is an excellent mid-tier CPU for a home PC.

Lol, I bought the 3300X a year ago at Canada Computers for $180. So it does exist in Canada.

Debating if I want another one since that was probably the last time it was in stock. 3300X supports ECC Ram. You can make a budget TrueNAS server for full ZFS support with the ECC Ram. My 3300X is used for a backup offsite TrueNAS server.

It's a good Nas budget option if you care about power draw. Otherwise you need to buy Intel Xeon which costs way too much or older enterprise gear off of eBay that draws a lot more power out of the wall.

This would have been a good buy over a year ago, but I consider the 11400F a much better buy in the $225 range. It gives you 6 full cores and it blows the 3300X out of the water in both single thread and multi-thread performance.

It was 170$ from last year to like a week ago lol

The i3-10100f (4core/8threads) was also 105$ many times in the past months.

I don't know why anyone would buy this instead...

That's a pretty bad price... But I guess if you're building today, you don't have much of an option.

Hey its July people go on vacation and traffic dries up in computer stores.
Its also the time retailers clean up their warehouses. Yeah boss what do we do with
this pallet of aging stock. Three weeks ago an academic year finished and some retailers
are pushing back to school sales already. Why even Costco has kids snowsuits in stock.
This retail dead zone will last till the last week of July so other deals may pop up to generate
cash flow and offset losses from declining GPU prices. Remember this CPU is already a year old.
and won't be much of value on an upgrade. I found out that in this budget segment an intel i5
rocket lake build was a couple of hundred dollars cheaper than an AMD 3000 six core budget family.
This probably explains why as weird as it seems; Intel has overtaken AMD in budget builds

I don't like AMD that they do not have integrated GPU. For someone who doesn't game and uses a computer for coding and all, I do not need a GPU.
