Great to see stock finally seem to normalize on the consumer market processors.

too expensive for me. Rather go team blue, and get the i9 10900k for that price.

CC has been gouging people for way too long. And many other scummy practices.

Even with the sales I won't go to them. They can go bankrupt for all I care.

It only makes sense to get this CPU if you game at 1080p and really care about high FPS (over 144hz). If you game at 4K, then CPU doesn't really matter as your bound by GPU. You would get the same FPS with a 5600X in this case. Even at this price, the 5800x is not really worth it as there are better options.

Happy to see this in stock - but I think the 5600x or 5900x are better price to performance buys overall

PS: Praying to find 5900x stock available

When you plan on using the computer for something other than gaming but need a powerful CPU, perhaps

Will probably be a Zen 3 refresh sometime in the fall. And with 100% booked fabs, the zen4/am5 stuff is going to be just as hard to get. Shortages are going to happen for at least the rest of the year.

Great price. That's roughly the US MSRP ($450), translated to Canadian with <1% exchange fees. With so much demand for these babies it's surprising to see a retailer offering any discount at all.

I'm sorely tempted, but I've decided to put off my long-planned 1440p high refresh build until I can buy a new GPU at or around MSRP. It makes no sense for me to buy a new CPU or monitor until I have a suitable GPU to complete the package. By the time GPUs are available for MSRP, we may be into 2022 or even 2023 the way things are going with the way crypto is going.

You know that Intel users don't understand what you mean?
Intel requires you to buy a new motherboard with every generation of CPU.
