[Canada Computers] Asus notebook, i7-7500U, 8GB DDR4, 256GB SSD

ASUS F542UA-DH71 Notebook
15.6" FHD(1920x1080) Intel Core i7-7500U(2.70 GHz) 8GB DDR4 256GB SSD
Intel HD Graphics 620 DL DVD±RW/CD-RW Bluetooth 4.1 Windows 10 64-Bit

It seems like a decent deal if you don't care about lots of local storage or gaming. Screen is good, keyboard is chiclet.

What do the experts think?

Is this english or bilingual keyboard?

Looks good except screen could be IPS instead

Also do they have a full refund if you open the product and return it in X days? (I think its 14 but want to confirm)

Why are they still in business? And yet NCIX had better customer service, but went bankrupted?

No, i dont think it is good at all. a 2.3kg labtop with a merely 38whr battery...i dont know how they designed this thing....not mentioning last gen 2 cores cpu and a HD620....I dont know even whats purpose of buying it at 800 dollars, lightweight or power, neither of them.

Although the specs are okay, this would only be a good deal at $599 or less. Asus build quality is terrible.

Poor business management is why NCIX failed.

My personal “must haves” when buying or recommending a laptop are minimum Core i5 (at least 7th gen), 8gb ram, FHD display, ssd drive, 8gb ram, solid battery life (rated for at least 8hrs) and lastly a solid aluminium body (no plastic as it makes the laptop feel very cheap regardless of internal components).

Lately ive been recpmmending the newest Acer Swift 3 when on sale for $799 but my personal favorite are the Dell XPS 13’s which are a step up in price but also a step up in overall build quality, etc. One of the main reasons i like the XPS 13 is it has the best Windows trackpad ive ever used on a laptop, the non matte display is fantastic, has great build quality and battery life is outstanding.
