[Canada Computers] Canada Computers - SanDisk Ultra MicroSDXC UHS - 200GB - 60$ !!

Hey guys,

Just got this deal, needed a memory card for my Ninetendo Switch. Best deal I found , had one more left at CC at Scarborough.

200GB is pretty sweet!

Old news. It was $46 on Amazon.ca. All you need is a time machine.

https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B073JY5T7T/ref ... =UTF8&th=1 $59 now seems ok if you want to buy off Amazon. I bought this a few months ago at Canada Computers and it was like $95 with tax I think. I'll have to find it and see as I've not opened the packaging yet. Read some stuff about some fake cards making it into the shipping supply and preferred buying in the store at a reputable shop. Didn't want to chance it with the memory cards. Sadly the market is plagued with a lot of hacked cards.

Curious, I wonder how long it will take for the Sandisk 400gb ($189 CDN right now) to drop to say $75 or below? Wonder why Sandisk went with a 200gb, 256gb, 400gb sizing. I would have thought it would have been better with the old (coming from PC RAM) 256, 512, etc doubling.

All jokes aside, I have this card installed in my phone (Amazon purchase @ $46).

This card is real despite concerns to the contrary from folks on this board.

Love the breathing room this space affords. Will buy the 400gb in 12 to 24 months when it hits sub $50.

God bless.

Great deal if you need this much space.

I have 128GB on my phone and don't even have it half filled up.

I missed it at this price. I paid $59+tax on amazon.ca thinking that was the deal and I've already opened it so I'm probably just gonna have to keep it. Didn't even really need it as I already have a 128gb sandisk in my phone. If it doesn't perform well in my phone or at all I'll have to return it.

Questionable. They're great for phones which are more read-heavy.

You'll want a high endurance card for DSLRs or Video devices, they're slower but more robust.

Besides reliability, don't you also want a fast card for a DSLR for burst shots? An Extreme Pro can easily write at 80MB/s whereas this Ultra is probably half as fast at best.

RFD is not just about saving money, it's about the thrill of the hunt and not paying full price like Joe Shmoe did. This applies to everyday items as well as high end items that I don't really need.

Yeah, the card in the OP averages around 40 MB/s for writes (I have one in my S8 and Switch); my very old Sandisk Extreme I got in 2013 for my 6D has faster write speeds than that.

Be careful generalizing, the S8/S8+ (I have one) doesn't saturate the card's throughput capacity. That said, yes it's probably only 40MB/s in practice, which is 320Mpbs, plenty fast for high grade 4K video playback onto your phone or other device... and for pretty much any other read-intensive use except running applications.

As I said, for the price, I'm loving this card in my phone.

I should clarify that the write speed isn't off the S8 or a Switch but with a USB 3 SD card reader for a large file transfer (20GB+).
