Сanada Computers and their return policy kinda kills any deal.
I am staying away from them.

you can't return anything whether it be opened or not, the exception being that the item is damaged

PSU prices have gone way up since then, the demand of higher wattage PSUs especially, because of COVID and Ampere

No restocking fee. If you open anything you buy you essentially have to keep it (certain products can still be returned but nothing hardware related).

Manufacturing defects will go through their own process, I'm currently at the 2 week mark waiting for a replacement mounting kit.

I bought a 5600xt in store 2 weeks ago, and I was told all sales were final. So once you've opened it there's no return, even though their website suggests otherwise. If it's defective you can only get an exchange.

Also the CPU cooler I bought with the video card turned out to be used, and there's no way they'd take it back since it's already been opened.

Also on a side note they refused to price match MemEx on some RAM I bought. This was a few months back. Honestly the only reason why I still buy from them is they're the only computer shop in my city (bestbuy doesn't count).

I was going to buy the hyper x quadcast s and canada computers were the only ones carrying it close by.
That was actually what swayed my decision and I went for a yeti X instead.

Canada Computer customer service is so horrendous I've vowed never to buy from them, no matter how cheap.

Ditto. I don't buy anything of real value from them. Their prices aren't very good most times anyway.

I was wondering about the price. I got one in August but now I realize I got the RM850x which is more than an RM850.

Long story short , I ordered almost 5000$ of PC hardware earlier this year. Everything was in stock when added to the order. They charged the credit card for that amount and then trouble started ... Half of it was BO, hours and hours and hours on the phone trying to swap items , finally cancelling every BO parts. I ordered them on newegg and received newegg part BEFORE canadacomputers....

It took more than a month to get the money back on CC....

Too bad because I did like them but they lost me

Off topic/rant: I purchased some cheap KB's and cables (about $75) a few years ago on Amex which was processed and approved. Cashier refused to give me my product (I had the receipt) until they did a refund/rebuy on Visa/MC. He then stated "I do not believe the approved receipt is valid and you have not paid for your product". I politely declined a refund/rebuy as the Amex was a business card and my others weren't.

I picked up the same items off the shelf and started to walk out - cashier forcefully took them out of my hands. Cashier then lied saying that it would be theft as the $10 KB's and mice were listed by serial number on the receipt (ya, sure buddy).

It escalated to the point of police being called, and me being advised (by police) to pick up the same items off the shelf and walk out with receipt in hand. Cashier attempted to block my path at which I clearly vocalized that the police would be called if they stopped me. Cashier backed down and I left.

They technically accept Amex as it allows them to get reduced bundled merchant fees on Visa/MC yet they refuse to accept Amex despite it being part of their merchant agreement with Moneris/whoever they use.

Tldr, will happily pay more to never have to shop at Canada Computers again.

A long, long time ago
I can still remember how that shop
Used to make me smile
And I knew if I had my chance
That I could make those people dance
And maybe they'd be happy for a while

But November made me shiver
With every deal I'd viewer
Bad deals on the doorstep
I couldn't take one more step
I can't remember if I swore
When I read about his shitty price
Something touched me deep inside
The day the shop died

Recall years ago, ppl warned that CC was playing price wars to beat other competitors, however, once those competitors gone, CC would start playing monopoly game. Now seems so true.

What a depressing discussion. Can anyone recommend a decent B&M computer store in the GTA? Like others have said, I shop there because it is the only computer store around.
I used to go there because they were better than TIger Direct (remember them?) but now I go because there is no where else to shop.

I wanted to buy sort of docking station solution. Kind of generic product. I was told that if the product doesn't work for my laptop, they can only exchange it for the SAME product.
Do not get me wrong - I'm all about supporting local Canadian business.
But this?
This is nonsense. Customer should not get this degrading quality of service getting rolled on his shoulders.

I left Canada Computers and won't buy anything from there. I prefer Amazon. At least I have piece of mind in case I need to return the product.
