The G2 is $89 after a mail-in rebate and made by Superflower, and whisper quiet with the fan off and dead silent in ECO mode with the fan off.

For anyone looking for a new PSU, the G2 above is a much better deal at $10 more, if you can deal with the MIR.

PSU tier list indicates the G2 is tier 1, so among the best PSU's , where G1 (not listed), is estimated to be tier 3 as it's not Seasonic or Superflower made.

I picked up a Rosewill Capstone 550m a few weeks back from Newegg's Ebay store for $80, also a good unit at T2 on the list and built my Superflower as well.

I'd honestly recommend the GQ version of this, usually 10 to 20 dollars more. Have had it almost a year now, running 24/7, whisper quiet, 12v regs are good.. so many painful reviews of G1. Invest more time researching this before biting, affects entire PC.

the G1 and GQ are FSP . GS are seasonic and G2 and G3 are superflower.
Stick with Seasonic and superflower as they are top tier if your going to spend $$ on a build
