[Canada Computers] [EXPIRED] Ryzen 5 2600X + ASUS STRIX B450-F Combo $319

I think this is a very good deal, even before Ryzen 3 launch. You also get 2 free games.

I think you should be able to get $60 for both games, so net cost is $260 for a 2600X and a decent B450 mobo. This is a steallar deal if you can not wait 2 more months for Ryzen 7nm, I suspect even after Ryzen 7nm this deal would still be considered a good deal.

Does anybody know if you have to update the B450 motherboard so it will work the 2600X chip? I know the X470 boards are good with the latest generation chips but older boards need an update. I am curious if this is going to be a hassle to have to get the chip and board to work together.

Not sure if this helps, but I have the B350-F and a 2600X and mine didn't require an update. I know that the older releases did but I'm pretty sure they fixed it now. Might want to confirm.

This board also seems compatible with the new 3000 line from AMD so an upgrade path is clear as well....might bite as i'm trying to update my aging CPU paired with a decent 4k card (vega 56 flashed to 64)

I would say this is a very hot deal! 2600x is the ideal gaming CPU, ram is cheap these days, and a new Vega 56 can be had for $400.........great 1440 gaming PC, or 4k non-competitive

Check newegg reviews. Not sure why recent customers are having issues with the board. One even said to not update the board to avoid issues.

This is an awesome deal though. But do check the reviews for more details.

Upvote for OP regardless.

This is a super hot price.

I have this exact combo, and I thought I did good at $350 a few months ago

This is a good deal, but the next consoles will have quite a bump in cpu power. I’m waiting to see what happens because I don’t want to be underpowered for multiplatform games.

I bought an AMD GPU a few months back and after the product was mailed out, I received an email with the code and instructions on how to redeem the free games. I am assuming this works in a similar way.

I jumped on this deal. I bought the $139 RX570 card 2 months ago, with 2 free games. Paired with this CPU/motherboard with another 2 free games. I am feeling pretty happy about my budget setup. The GPU will be good for 1080 gaming and perhaps even some 1440 gaming with the settings turned down a bit.

How good is this for gaming? Benchmarks say 8700k is 15% faster is that noticeable? Mainly wanting it for 1440p gaming i have a rtx 2070 will this processor and mobo bottleneck it? Will it run all newer games fine? Thanks.
