Apply $40 off coupon.

This is getting cheaper by the week, and not a surprise after seeing the last 2 quarters of PC parts sales, they need to move old stock before they release the rest of the 13th gen (looking at you 13400) but really, how low can it go?

In any case, this is 5700x price range now and arguably a better CPU for those building a new system.

Would've gone for this over my 5700x without hesitation at this price.

I think the 12700k was 300ish recently? Also good value

13500 is coming , 6 p core, 8 e core.

And 12600kf is 280 last week (boxing)btw.

But I still think 12700k for 349 is better deal( until yesterday)

Regarding 12700 vs 12600:
Almost no difference in gaming, nor most real world scenarios.

Any good Motherboards that can be recommended to pair with this? Hopefully with Wifi and Type C USB?

I just bought this for my mATX build; haven't gotten my proc, so I can't speak to how good it is. Best price I could find on an LGA 1700 mATX board. $199, plus an extra $25 off when you clip the coupon before adding it to your cart.

I'm in the market to build a machine, went to 2 CC and they both suggested getting 5700x last week with b550m MSI/gigabyte mb (around 150)
Why is this one better than the 5700x?
Also I do a lot of web developing work, would this be sufficient or should I go for i7?
Thank you in advance!

CC is charging 380 for that which means it's a total ripoff when it was as closer to 200-230 recently. So in other words they're dumping old stock at a premium on you which is scummy

This is way better and the LGA 1700 motherboards are same price as AM4. Some support DDR5 also.

Power draw is the main difference and obviously thermals but not at normal workloads.

I would just get DDR 4 to save money but maybe get a DDR5 capable motherboard for option to swap later when DDR5 may actually be worth the premium price

DDR4 motherboard can not be upgraded with DD5 memory later.

I do not know of any motherboards having DDR4 and DDR5 memory slots.

Motherboard states what is supported. Most are ddr4 or ddr5 only

I guess some support both
https://www.tomshardware.com/news/intel ... r5-support

But yes good call. I made a suggestion that was wrong. I thought the pin layout/slots were the same. I only have DDR4.

So he either has to go for DDR4 or DDR5 board. Combo board (which seems to barely exist) is a weird novelty and likely pointless at cost of performance (single channel).

Curious if anyone has opinion why this deal is better than say the i5 11600k for 199
Or for a bit more the i7 10700kf for 299

Before 12th gen are all garbage in 2023 unless they are no more than 100 dollars and you have old MB.

12600K will wipe the walls with that processor so unless you are just upgrading from like a 10100F or something I would grab a new motherboard and this CPU and assuming your system is semi recent you can reuse your DDR4 RAM.

Do you need to upgrade? For gaming you're most likely fine.
