[Canada Computers] Intel Core i7-12700K Desktop Processor $507.99 with $10 coupon

What:
Intel Core i7-12700K Desktop Processor

Price:
$507.99 after applying $10 coupon

Who:
Canada Computers

URL:

This is the lowest I've seen. It is a beast of a processor. I recently upgraded to it and have been cooling it with a Noctua NH-D15.

What are your temps like? I am looking at getting the same CPU and cooler combo.

Idle at low 30s while web browsing and such

Cinebench MultiCore Score: 22866
Cinebench CPU Max Package Temperature: 81C, most cores were in the 70's range.
Cinebench CPU Total TDP: 187W

I also ran the OCCT Stress Test:
OCCT CPU Stress Test with 12700k Temperature Max Package: 87 C
CPU power boosted to 233W.

I have 5 case fans, 3 intake 2 exhaust and a fractal design r5 case.

Hope that helps.

Z690 board can be had at $164. The prices have dipped a little since launch.

There's only ASRock at that price, and honestly that is not a very good board. A decent entry level board would be the MSI PRO Z690-A, but that's like $270. I guess you can pick up a B660 instead to save some money if you don't plan on overclocking, but Z690 boards are still fairly pricey.

I picked up the i5 12600K myself yesterday. It's $354 with the coupon: https://www.canadacomputers.com/product ... _id=201282

I bought the MSI motherboard to go with it off Amazon after watching a bunch of reviews. Kind of pricey but it is what it is. .

That is true.. but it was a retort to the previous post. The cheapest 12th gen board is the Asus PRIME H610M-E D4 Micro ATX LGA1700 for $119, but you cannot overclock on it so pointless for a K series processor.

I personally bought the ASUS Prime z690-P D4 board for $249 from Memory Express a month ago. No issues at all, stable and no issues with XMP either.

Looking to build an iTX water cooled system, the price on alder lake cpus is great, but just like past generations the motherboards cost a ton unless you strip all your preferences.

I guess for this use case 5800x/5900x is still a better choice with cheaper but good B550I boards.

Too bad since the 12700k benchmarks look so good.

This is CAD ~491 on BHPhoto (https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/ ... e_lga.html) - shipping to Canada is extra ~US$9 (waived if you add a "Free Shipping to Canada over $99 item" as well in the cart along with the CPU).

(For those unaware, BHPhoto will charge the correct fed+provincial sales taxes and no duty will be charged on reciept. I've ordered from them many times no issues. In this case, I ended up going with the 12700F for ~US$313 = CAD ~400.)

If you buy this 12700K and plan to overclock, I highly recommend an AIO cooler (280mm or greater), as with my Noctua D15s (2 fan setup) in Cinebench R23 I hit 82-86 degrees in most of the cores, and harder stress tests hit 93-95 degrees if not CPU throttle. I replaced with an EVGA CLC 280 AIO and my temperatures drop to 68-71 degrees in Cinebench R23 and harder stress tests between 81-85 degrees. These temperatures are based on a P500A case and 12700K at stock settings with Power Limits off via bios.

If you only game and keep it at stock settings (power limited) then you can install any air cooler or AIO as most of the time the temperatures will be near 50-65 degrees during gaming.

My build: i7-12700k, ASUS Prime Z690-P D4, RTX 3060, Corsair 4000D case (3 intake & 2 exhaust Noctua NF-A12 fans)

I also get around 30 deg during idle. Under 100% CPU load in Cinebench, I get ~ 73 deg max CPU package temp w/ Noctua NH-D15 air cooler.

I originally had a Cooler Master Hyper 212 in that build, which was giving me around 81 deg max. But when I built a second PC with an i5-12600k, I moved the Hyper to that one since an i5 won't get as hot.

Yeah I thought of buying the CPU from BH Photo, but if there is any issue and I need to return it, I will have to spend more time dealing with the government to get the taxes back since BH Photo will not refund the taxes on a return. Even though it was cheaper at 478 CDN at the time, I ended up deciding against it. But yes it will be cheaper and if you're willing to risk it, you can save some money.

13th gen coming out soonish. But saying that I will likely get this and grab a 13900k if there is a huge performance increase especially in my work load Premiere Pro). Currently running a 3900x

Bestbuy just switched to online drops in Canada. They had one recently with over 4000 GPUs and lots of FE cards. Many ppl were able to score a card icluding myself! AMD stock is improving and people are reporting being able to get a video card at MSRP there too.

Still very hard to get a 2 years old 3060 TI at MSRP, better just wait for next GEN out when the current GPU price will drop more..

Same here, MSRP or bust for me. I'll hold onto my 1070 for years longer if I need to lol
