Pretty good deal for an IPS monitor with 144Hz

Both are good depending on your needs.

For gamers go with the MSI VA for the 1ms response time. For watching Netflix and more casual gaming get the LG for better colours, however the IPS glow might be bad in a dark room (something which can easily be fixed with some duct tape).

For a more future proof investment look into a 2k (1440p) display or even a 4k (if you need a larger display at ~32"+). On the other hand for serious gamers (especially FPS players) consider a 240hz monitor instead.

Alot of last year models will start going on clearance as companies announce their new 2020 lineups in Q1.

Is there even any 4k 144hz hdr10 freesync/gsync monitor out there?

If you want HDR better off going the TV as a Monitor route. 4K 144hz freesync monitors are top end tech right now and not worth it IMO unless you have money to burn, there will be better options in the future.
