Decent price i guess but at this point it should be discounted from MSRP. Reality is no point in getting this if i am stuck with an oldschool graphic card or have to pay 3x MRSP for a 2 year-old card. Frustrating as hell since my ivy bridge is clocked to the max and so is my 1060 but i refuse to pay a graphic card at the same price as a PS5.

Even when the shortage stops, you won't find a decent GPU much lower than a PS5. Consoles are cheaper because they make money on subscriptions, controllers, games and accessories. Microsoft admitted in court they NEVER sold a console for profit, even at the end of a generation. Let that sink in... Xbox One S are still sold at a loss.

I remember last year i wanted to pricematch a heatsink and psu and they wouldn't do it even though it said on their site that they do price match, so keep that in the back of your head when they start throwing out excuses.

The pricing page says, "Important: In light of the current situation, Canada Computers is temporarily suspending Price Match until further notice."

Pretty sweet - finally below MSRP ($299 USD). Not terribly surprising, now that the 11400F exists for $200-$225. Hopefully it trends down to the $300-$325 range by the fall, though that may be wishful thinking.

As tempting as this is, I'm holding out until I can get a new GPU for less than the cost of a kidney. Makes no sense to upgrade to the latest gen without a key component (the GPU). Most games are bottlenecked by the GPU, especially at higher resolutions.

Neat strategy from INTEL. Low price on CPU, but motherboard will cost you your second kidney. LGA 1200 motherboards with PCIE 4.0 and DDR4-3200 RAM support are $200+ ...

Do you have a motherboard link to recommend for 11400F CPU with PCIE 4.0 and DDR4-3200 RAM ?

BTW, here's the Speed difference - 5600x still 10% faster than 11400F - HERE

Gpus are probably going to come down now that the Chinese are liquidating their mining rigs and not buying gpus anymore.

For sure, Intel mobos are more expensive in general. The 11400F isn't overclockable though, so you don't need a top end Intel board for it.

The 5600X is definitely the superior chip, but it's only about ~10% faster in single core and ~15-20% in multi-threaded. For some, it will be hard to justify paying 50% more for the extra performance, when that money would probably get a better bang for your buck in a better GPU.

Personally I'll be going AMD (likely a 5800X - I want the 8-cores as I tend to keep by desktops a long time) when the time goes - unless Alder Lake blows us away.

That's a good plan. I thought you were gonna trade both your kidneys for a gaming system! Astonished Face

I will buy your kidney and rent it out to you back on a monthly basis. No surgery required. Use referral code YOUKIDNOWMINE and get 10% discount on your kidney leaseback when you refer a friend.

The referral code seems to indicate human trafficking rather than organ harvesting/renting.

Not going to build a new PC until I can get a new GPU at a reasonable price, so at this point I'm setting my sights on hopefully the next GPU gen. I hope the GPU market flops hard before they have to decide on pricing.

Still have a GTX1080 that can handle anything thrown at it on Ultra especially if I just keep resolution at 1080P and let my TVs fantastic upscaling to 4K do it's thing which surprisingly looks very decent. I've contemplated many times over the last half of the year whether to sell that 1080 but couldn't bring myself to having absolutely nothing for an indeterminate amount of time.
