[Canada Computers] WD Blue SN550 1TB M.2 NVMe $124.99

Not quite as cheap as in December (was $120 back then), but still a good drive for a decent price.

Few dollars more at Amazon

Someone want to confirm a nvme drive will only fit a nvme space however a sata m.2 drive will fit both a sata space and also the nvme space?
But the speeds would be only as fast as a sata drive can handle using it in a nvme space?

This is also a problem on other Dell and Lenovo laptops.

Forewarned.
Didn't your laptop come with a M.2 NVMe PCI-E drive as the main drive?

It's now slightly more expensive, but worth it. The experience of SSD vs HHD is day and night.

Don't forget M.E's price match.

No, there is no backwards compatibility between SATA and NVMe. A slot can support SATA, NVMe or both. Most slots nowadays do support both though.

Best Buy's return policy on storage is 30 days unopened. Canada Computers is 15. I don't know about you but $5 and dealing with Best Buy trying to deny me a price match without valid reason, is not worth an extra 15 days unopened to me...

Shipping is $9 at Canada Computers. $5 after the shipping credit, so it comes out the same cost as Best Buy. Even if you do store pick up, you have to drive there, which wastes gas and time. For me, I'll stick with Best Buy. If I need to return, I know Best Buy will take the return no questions asked whereas Canada Computers will try to deny me a return. I bought stuff from Canada Computers a few months ago. Unionville location denied returning my parts but North York took it no questions asked. The amount of time and gas money spent driving from Markham to North York was annoying, especially during a pandemic. They're too YMMV for my liking. Plus the fact my friend and I called multiple locations over 20 times combined and not one picking up their phone doesn't help their case either. We called downtown Toronto, North York, Unionville, and Richmond Hill 2 weeks ago.

I'd rather just buy from Amazon at this point. Amazon has literally never denied me a return for anything and the shipping is also free. Don't even need to go to a store, just drop it in a mailbox.

I am still waiting for the NVMe 1TB to reach $100. Hopefully end of this year and I'll bite the bullet.

Fyi: This is a DRAM LESS drive. You can get a drive with dram if you spend $20 or so more.
