You have to make an account it seems. When I tried to do it with a guest account it showed $2.99 shipping, when I created an account, shipping became free.

Yes, it was the same for me. I created an account and all set. $5.41 TOTAL (included tax and free shipping)

I picked up a cheap roll the other week when I really needed to seal a box, and the quality was awful...basically plastic wrap with an adhesive side. These ones are nicer.

So it's adding 4 packs of 4 to my cart (16 rolls total)

What's also strange is the ad reads 20% off, but when added to cart, it's actually 40%

I just don't want that much tape

I bought a pack about a year back, they are pretty good quality tape, no issues with quality or lack of adhesive.

clear cookies / try different browser / make a new account

I made another order just to see if I would get that error but I was able to get to the final "Place Order" screen with Quantity of 2 in cart @ $10.

Out of curiosity did you make a personal or business account? Maybe that has something to do with it. Mine is personal.
