Canada's Wonderland - Fast Passes

Hey all,

Going to Wonderland this Friday, and haven't been in a decade or more.

I see they now offer fast passes.

Has anyone bought them? Is it worth it? Seems they are like 3x the price of the ticket itself.

How have wait times been this summer?

The wait times have been awful. If you havent been in a long time I would strongly consider a fast pass or fast pass plus. Its worth it, otherwise theres a chance youll only get on 5-6 good rides. I'd still aim to visit on a cloudy weekday.

I went on June 27th, which (I think) was the last day of high school. I bought fast pass plus.

the lines for most of the fast pass plus rides (behemoth, leviathan), were under 15 min. yukon striker was much longer, but it was mainly because they were running only 1 train that day. apparently there was an incident at cedar point the previous day on valravn (which is a very similar ride to yukon striker) where two cars bumped into each other, so they were taking extra precautions.

if you want to ride the roller coasters (and multiple at times at that), I would get the fast pass. you're looking at about 1 hour wait times or longer (probably around 1.5 - 2 hours for striker) if you don't have fast pass, and it's ridiculously hot to wait outside in line for that long too.

Just went. The place is a zoo. You need fast passes just to get into the parking lot and to order food anywhere.

Most people recommend that if you are considering getting the FastLane, to upgrade and get the FastLane Plus for unlimited access to the Yukon Striker, Behemoth and Leviathan. Unless those 3 roller coasters aren't on your list of rides to do, of course, then the FastLane Plus is the way to go.

weekend or weekday? I was trying to go in June before school was out but it would rain every day we planned to. Might try again in September

my partner and I did this. I bought the all-inclusive pass, and she got just the admission + FLP.

in my opinion it was worth it - not sure how much parking is right now but it had to be at least $20. food-wise, we both don't eat too much (and we didn't want to overstuff ourselves anyway because our main focus was rides), so it was enough sharing a hotdog or slice of pizza every 1.5 hours or so. it's also nice to have the souvenir bottle to refill as you go along to keep you hydrated. the picture thing was a non-factor.

it's ridiculously expensive, but you're paying a premium to jump the lines and not have to worry about paying any more expenses or having to wait over an hour in the sun for rides. don't forget that sometimes rides will shut down for a bit too for maintenance or whatever reason - you don't want to be waiting in line for an hour only to find out that trains have stopped. at least if you have FLP, you can come back later easily and get on the ride again quickly once it reopens. in terms of food, even if you redeem the food twice, it already pays for itself as meals will usually cost around $10-15, and sometimes more (ie. a chicken tender and fries was around $15 IIRC). if you actually go and redeem every 1.5 hours, and you stay at the park most of the day, it's a no-brainer.

hope you have fun! :)

Wonderland is a place expressly designed to separate patrons from their money. In the the most obvious non-discreet way. $13 hot dogs. $15 footlong subs. $28 pizzas. For food, we just go outside the park to eat. There's a Wendy's across the street from the gates and a McD's further north, among lots of other options.

We also buy seasons passes which allows us to go to the park a couple of hours at a time and not feel obligated to stay for 10 hours to get our money's worth.

if you go super early in the morning wait at the gates you can get a ride of your choice in before the big line up.

Yeah, we do that quite often. Get in for opening. Race to our target and get a wait-free ride in. Spend a couple of ours there and get the hell out of Dodge before it becomes a mess. Sometimes, if it looks particularly bad, we might even call it quits after scoping out the place. Season's pass is great that way.

Wednesday. Got there at 10 and there was a massive 25 minute lineup to pay for parking, massive line up to get in to park and line ups to get food. If anyone goes don't go in at Rutherford from 400. There was a huge line at the left turn and the next street also.

Just saw this thread. I go to CW every so often.

Always buy the Fastpass as you enter the park (never before) to determine crowd levels.

With the addition of Yukon Striker, line levels on all rides have decreased across the park.

I went last weekend when the weather was hot. Water park was packed but rest of park was empty. Longest lineup was Yukon Striker (1 hr) because of idiots that puke on rides.

is the Yukon ride better than the other ones, worth waiting for?
