Buck knives are good. I have one and the handle is made from actual giraffe bone. Super cool.

Decent deal for 10 bucks. I collect knives and this is a solid deal for a cheap EDC knife.

What's a good folding knife for $20-30? Something that is durable and not too small or too heavy for using when camping and around as EDC.

It's around $40 to $50 but the Ontario RAT1 would be ideal for you.

There isn't a lot of good quality stuff in the $20 to $30 range unless you order Ganzo knives from China and wait for shipping.

If a fixed blade is fine, the Mora knives from Sweden are great, and they are $20 to $25 on Amazon.ca

Thanks! I just looked into the Rat1 and the Rat2 might be actually better fit because it's not as heavy. Where do you recommend to get this online?

Bought a few of these last time they were like $8.99 a piece. Uploading some pics of one so you can see. Decent edge retention and sharp out of the packaging. It is Buck's china made variants and is 420J2 steel. But super light if you wanted light EDC. Good to throw into your car or a tool box etc. Obviously not the quality of Buck Idaho USA knives but better than the other chinesium knives around this price point. It is deceptively light.

Edit: Supposedly comes in another steel variant? But tbh you can't expect a sub $10 folding blade knife made in China to hold an edge. Especially after use. You WILL to sharpen eventually as you do for all steels. Depends on what you need the knife for.

I picked one of these up on a previous sale. It has become my goto EDC, it is a great size (not too big, not too small) and comes out of the box very sharp. Seems to hold the edge well after use as well. Really great knife, considering buying as a gift for others :)

Pretty nice for $10. Plenty of stock at the Rylander location I see online (70). I agree, the mora knifes are amazing bang for the buck... They are so sharp out of the package and stay pretty sharp... heck i use them in the kitchen more than my kitchen set! haha.

This is their father's day deal every year. I picked one up a few years ago, and I'm happy with it.

Good beater knife you don't have to worry about.
