[Canadian Tire] Can.T: Master Chef 16qt stainless steel stock pot $29.99 (80% off) | Sale starts Sept 11

Was just brining the flyers in and noticed this Master Chef 16qt stainless steel pot for $29.99 on the front page. Just in time for back to school/cooler nights to make soup/chilli/hot water canning(jam/jellies)/water baking. Wished the lid was stainless so that if you wanted you could throw that on a fire sideways with a rack inside and use it as an oven.

Sale starts on Sept 11.

For those curious about the oven method.

For those of you out there going to college/uni and looking to save some money you can make some very easy tasty and healthy broth that can be used to make soup.

For those that go out and get rotisserie chickens from the store and have a freezer then save the bones from that chicken you just had (or if using beef/pork bones from ribs and such) and put the bones in the freezer. When you have enough bones stored up throw them in a pot to make broth.

1. Put bones in pot

2. Fill pot with cold water with 1-2inches of water above the bones

3. Bring pot to a boil

4. Once at a boil, lower heat to a simmer

5. Set timer and wait at least 6hrs to extract flavor from the bones. 10-12hrs is preferred (pending the size of the bones but one can guage when the bones have given up all thier flavor when you can crumble the bones)

*******

If you want to make say veggie then add equal amounts of carrots, celery, and onions to about 1/3 - 1/2 of the broth you had made. Bring pot to a boil then simmer for 1-2hrs. You can add left over meat to the soup if you want.

Canadian Tire still doesn't have delivery? If Covid won't make them change they never will. This dinosaur business needs to be buried already.

I’ve always been able to get shipped to home so not sure what your problem is.

I was looking at one of these yesterday and boy the metal was paper thin. It's huge and light but I would have concerns about the quality. The 80% off is tempting but we all know how CT mark up their MSRPs.
